Network adapter: Installing drivers - how to do it

If you can't connect to your WLAN network, it may be that you haven't installed a driver for your network adapter yet. However, even if this is faulty, problems can occur. For this reason, it makes sense to always install the latest version.

How to install the driver for your network adapter

If you are having problems with your network, this may be due to the installed driver. If it is not present or out of date, you may have problems. Usually, you can install the network adapter driver directly via Windows. Alternatively, you must first download it from the manufacturer's website and follow the instructions for installation. However, first try this via the Control Panel.
  1. In Windows, click on the Windows icon at the bottom left and then select "Control Panel". Alternatively, you can also use the search function of Windows.
  2. Here you select the "System and Maintenance" section and then the "Device Manager". You can also open the manager directly via the search function.
  3. Select the entry "Network Adapter" with the right mouse button and click on "Properties" in the drop-down menu to get more information.
  4. Click on the arrow next to "Network Adapter" to see all connected adapters. Mit der rechten Maustaste wählen Sie diese entsprechend aus und klicken auf „Treiber aktualisieren“ beziehungsweise „Treiber installieren“.
  5. Der Vorgang wird nun automatisch durchgeführt.
