Enabling a WLAN adapter - how it works
A WLAN adapter is also called a network adapter and allows you to establish a WLAN connection to the Internet with your computer. If the adapter is turned off on your computer, you must first activate it.
How to activate the WLAN adapter on a Windows 10 computer
A WLAN adapter is needed so that you can surf the Internet wirelessly with your PC or laptop. Since most modern computers already have an internal WLAN adapter, you just need to set up the WLAN connection to use it. If you cannot establish a WLAN connection even though your computer has a WLAN adapter, it may be that the adapter is switched off and you need to activate it first.- If you are using a Windows 10 computer, please open the Control Panel first for this.
- In the Control Panel, then navigate to "Network and Internet" and click "Network and Sharing Center".
- Look there in the menu bar on the left side for the entry "Change adapter settings" and click on it.
- Thereupon a new window opens, in which all network adapters of your computer are displayed.
- If the WLAN adapter is deactivated, please make a right click on the corresponding entry and select "Activate" from the context menu.
