What happens if I cancel my Audible subscription?

If your Audible subscription is too expensive or you can't find an audiobook you like, you can cancel the contract at any time via the account settings. Learn what happens to your credit and the titles in your library if you cancel.

Audible subscription cancelled - all info at a glance

Once you have cancelled your Audible subscription, you will not receive any more credits. However, you can continue to use your account as normal.
  • Audiobooks on Audible can also be purchased outside of a subscription. So you do not necessarily need to sign a contract to use the service.
  • All titles purchased as part of the subscription will of course remain in the library as usual and can still be heard without an active account.
  • Keep in mind that the saved credit expires with the cancellation. So use this up best before you cancel the contract.

Pause subscription instead of cancel

Alternatively to a cancellation, you can also pause your subscription for up to 90 days. You will then not receive any new credits during this time and no monthly charges will apply. You can reactivate the subscription at any time via the account settings.Follow these steps to pause your subscription:
  1. Go to the Audible website and log in to your account.
  2. Click on your name at the top of the navigation and select "My Account" from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click on "Cancel" at "My Audible Subscription". In the new overview, you now have the option to select a pause instead of canceling.
