Registering the Honor 20 - how to do it

Once you have purchased the new Honor 20, you have several methods to choose from to unlock the device. If you want to use Face Unlock or the fingerprint sensor for unlocking, it is necessary that you perform a registration beforehand. Read here how to register your face or fingerprint correctly.

Honor 20: How to register your face to use Face Unlock

If you want to use fingerprints or face recognition on the Honor 20 to unlock the device, it is necessary to register your face or fingerprints beforehand. Please note that both Face Unlock and fingerprint unlock are only available if you are already using an unlock method such as PIN, password or pattern. To register for Face Unlock, please first open Settings and go to "Security & Privacy" > "Face Scan". Then tap "Register Face" and follow the further instructions on the screen.

Honor 20: How to register your fingerprints

Registering fingerprints to use Fingerprint ID as an unlock method is also possible via the Settings app of the Honor 20.

1. Tap on the "Security & Privacy" entry here as well, but then please navigate to "Fingerprint ID" > "Fingerprint management" > "Change unlock method".
2. Now select the option "New fingerprint" and place your fingertip on the fingerprint sensor of the Honor 20.
3. Press the sensor until your smartphone vibrates and then tap "OK" to complete the registration.
