Before using it for the first time, you need to properly install your newly purchased IP camera. For this, you need to not only connect the camera to the router and the power grid, but also configure it. What steps are necessary for this, we explain in this article.

An IP camera, also known as a network camera, is a camera that is mainly used in video surveillance. If you have bought a new IP camera, it is necessary to install it properly before using it for the first time. To do this, first connect the IP camera to the power supply and connect the camera to your router via LAN cable.

1. Once you have successfully connected the IP camera, the next thing you need is the IP address of the camera to access its user interface.
2. To determine this, please enter the IP of your router in the browser and confirm with the "Enter key" to call up the router user interface.
3. Then log in there and call up the list with all connected network devices under "Network".
4. Now still search for the name of your IP camera and note its 10-digit IP address.

If you know the IP of your camera, please enter it in the address bar of your browser and confirm with "Enter" to call up the user interface of the camera. Log in there with the default password, which you can usually find in the camera's user manual, and follow the instructions for configuring the camera.
