What is Metacritic and why is it so popular?

• The Metascore is the weighted average of ratings from professional critics. It is given on a scale of 1 to 100.
• In addition, there is the User Score, which results from the reviews of private users. Here, a scale of 10 with one decimal place is used.
• This often results in interesting constellations, for example, when Metascore and User Score are very far apart. In these cases, it can help to take a closer look at the ratings and reviews.

Whether for movies, series or computer games, Metacritic serves millions of users as a focal point for purchase decisions.
