WoW Shadowlands: How high will the max level be?

The maximum level is increased per expansion - World of Warcraft has followed this system ironclad since the beginning. In WoW Shadowlands, however, a fundamental change is on the horizon. We have all the info on it.

Compressed: The level system will change a lot in Shadowlands.

With Battle for Azeroth, the maximum level increased to 120. Who now expects that the upcoming Shadowlands will raise the limit to 130, may be in for a surprise.

WoW Shadowlands: Max level is at 60

Several months before the release of WoW Shadowlands, Blizzard explained that there will be a major innovation regarding the level cap:

• So the max level is only at 60.
• With the release of the expansion, all players will consequently be downgraded. On which level exactly, depends on the respective level.
• Players of the current BfA maximum level 120 will find themselves at level 50. This means that despite the system change, time must be scheduled again to level up.
• The background is a so-called "level squish". Since the levels have increased so much over the years, the system is now trimmed to provide more clarity and a better player experience. This already happened in the past similarly with damage and health values.

Not least new players should benefit from this, as the path to level 120 (or 130) can seem more daunting than to level 60. In addition, each individual level should thereby gain in value, while the leveling process itself is streamlined.
