Key combination: maximize window - how to do it

Many functions on your PC can be called up quickly and easily using a key combination. On both Windows and Apple computers, you have the ability to control the size of an application window at will using a key combination. Here's how to do the process.

How to maximize a window using the keyboard shortcut on Windows

Using a keyboard shortcut to maximize a window works much like minimizing a window.
  1. To maximize an open window within an application, press the [Windows key] in combination with the up-arrow key [↑].
  2. Instead of a keyboard shortcut, you can maximize the window within an open application, for example in Word or the browser, using the top menu bar.
  3. To do this, simply click on the square at the top right of the screen. If the window is already maximized, clicking in the same place will minimize the window.

Key combination for maximizing a window on a Mac

The key combination for maximizing a window on a computer with the macOS operating system requires the use of the mouse. To do this, hold down [Alt] while simultaneously clicking the mouse on the green button at the top right of the open window. Thus you maximize the display of a window.
