iPhone 11 Pro: Zoom - how to activate the operating aid

To enable people with impaired vision to use the new iPhone 11 Pro, Apple has integrated various operating aids into the operating system. One of the aids is the zoom function, which allows screen content to be enlarged up to 1,500 percent.

Enable the zoom function - how to do it

The zoom function is nothing more than a screen magnifier that enlarges the content on your display. In addition to the normal iOS interface, the operating aid also works in all apps from the App Store. To activate the zoom function on your iPhone 11 Pro:
  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Select the "Operating aid" item.
  3. Tap in the overview on "Zoom".
  4. Finally activate the slider at "Zoom".
Below the activation slider you can adjust the zoom function more precisely by means of various setting options. By default, the zoom only enlarges part of the screen, but you can change that and enlarge the entire screen. Furthermore, you can select different color filters and adjust the magnification.

Use iPhone as a magnifier

You can not only magnify the screen content on your iPhone 11 Pro. If you activate the magnifier function in the settings, you can additionally use the camera to enlarge texts or similar off the screen. Depending on the settings, you start the magnifier function with a triple click on your side button or the home button. The iPhone then opens the camera mode. Just like in the normal camera, you can set a focus and zoom. Additionally, you can choose between different color filters. If you press the shutter button, the image is frozen until you press the button again.
