Saving Sims 4 - how to save your score

By saving regularly, you can prevent your Sims 4 game progress from being lost when you quit the game or it crashes. How you can save your game progress depends on the platform you are playing Sims 4 on.

How to save your progress in Sims 4

To avoid losing your progress in Sims 4, you should save your game regularly.
  1. Call up the menu while playing. On the PC this works via the ESC key, on the Playstation 4 via the Options key and on the Xbox One via the Menu key.
  2. Select the option "Save" in the menu.
  3. Now create a new save game by selecting an empty slot. Alternatively, you can also select an existing save and overwrite it.

Back up game saves - is that possible?

On the PC, you also have the option to create a backup of your saves.
  1. To do this, call Windows Explorer and change to the "Documents" directory.
  2. Select there the folder "Electronic Arts" or "EA Games".
  3. Now look for the Sims 4 folder in the directory and copy it.
  4. Finally paste the folder in the desired location for the backup.
This is especially convenient if you uninstall the game, rebuild the computer or even completely move to a new system. After installing Sims 4, you can namely simply paste the backed up saves back into the EA directory in the documents.
