Saving GIFs - how to save the animations

GIFs are small animations that you usually find in chats or on the Internet. They are often posted as a funny comment on a message or other medium. The actual GIF format is not used that often anymore, as there are better formats available now.

How to save your GIF on PC

When you create a GIF, it is usually saved in ".gif" format. This format can be read and saved by many different programs. Of course, the operating system also plays an important role, so you need to proceed differently when saving on iOS, Windows and Android.

1. If you want to save a GIF on iOS, tap on the corresponding file until the file selection menu appears. In the menu, tap "Save Image." The GIF has now been deposited with your images. Note that the animation will not play when you view the image. However, you can send the GIF and view the animation in a message program.
2. In Windows 10, you can save a GIF by right-clicking the mouse. When you do this, a menu appears where you can select "Save graphic as...". This gives you the option to save different GIFs from the Internet on your PC.
