Star Citizen: Buy Squadron 42 - how it works

Star Citizen is on everyone's lips despite ongoing alpha development. But Squadron 42, the solo spin-off featuring prominent actors, is at least as hotly anticipated. We explain how you can buy the game.

Individually or as a bundle: you have several options when buying Squadron 42.

Squadron 42 is supposed to be a space epic with a gripping story and revolutionary gameplay - the cast of actors already hints at how ambitious the game is.

How to buy Squadron 42

There are several ways to buy Squadron 42. In any case, the way leads to the site of Roberts Space Industries:

• If you want to buy Squadron 42 exclusively ("standalone"), it is possible here. The price is about 48 euros.
• If you also want to get into Star Citizen, there are the two starter ships incl. game access each in a package with Squadron 42. These are the Mustang Alpha and the RSI Aurora MR.

Both combo packages cost about 70 euros and are thus a good deal cheaper than the separate individual purchase of a starter package and Squadron 42.As always, the note that the release of Squadron 42 also still seems to be a long way off. Although there was reason for optimism at the end of 2018 that the game might even be released as early as 2020 (we reported on this), the situation now looks different again, as not even the beta is planned in the foreseeable future.Whether the purchase is recommendable at this point in time thus remains a question of one's own expectations.
