Star Citizen: Star Marine explained - this is the FPS mode

Star Citizen is still in alpha phase, but already includes several modes. In addition to the main game ("Universe"), there are Arena Commander and Star Marine modes. The latter is presented in our guide below.

Firepower ahead: In Star Marine, you'll fight in good old-fashioned first-person shooter fashion.

As the simulation Star Citizen aspires to be one day, you'll spend time not only in the cockpit, but also on foot. Here, too, things can heat up, and Star Marine prepares you for that.

Star Citizen: This is Star Marine

To Star Marine should know this info:
  • Just like Arena Commander, you enter Star Marine via the main menu.
  • Necessary for this is a valid Star Citizen account with starter pack.
  • In Star Marine it's all about fighting in first-person shooter mode, so completely without spaceships. This is called FPS (First Person Shooter) in English.
  • Before the match, you can change your equipment and adjust it as you like. This is convenient to get to know all types of weapons.
  • There are currently two possible matches in Star Marine: In "Elimination" you collect points by shooting down, in "Last Stand" it is about conquering and holding control points.
  • In multiplayer mode, up to 24 players compete simultaneously.
Star Marine is suitable to train your own skills and get to know the FPS gameplay of Star Citizen. This ultimately plays an increasingly important role in the Persistent Universe. Because whether against humans or NPCs, conflicts are virtually pre-programmed in the growing universe. The upcoming PVP mode "Theatres of War" thus fits perfectly into the plan from the timing.
