Star Citizen: Buy ships ingame - now finally possible
Until now, Star Citizen players could only buy new ships with real money outside the game. With Alpha 3.7, this has finally changed. Our guide shows what in-game prices are called at the current state.
Ingame ship purchase is an important feature players have been waiting for for a long time.
Since Alpha 3.7 you can buy ships directly in the game, the currency is UEC, as explained in more detail here.
Star Citizen: This is what ships cost in the game
Here are some examples of the prices that apply in Alpha 3.7:
- Aegis Avenger Titan: 785.600 UEC
- Aegis Avenger Stalker: 882,300 UEC
- Origin 315p: 882,600 UEC
- Origin 325a; 944,200 UEC
- Anvil Arrow: 972,300 UEC
- Anvil Hurricane: 1,218,300 UEC
How long it takes to earn the amount you need depends on which ship you own. For example, the more stowage space you have, the larger quantities you can move in transport missions, which increases the profit per time. Therefore, it may make sense to borrow a larger ship by the day and then use that time well to maximize profit. The very popular (and capable) Drake Cutlass Black costs about 28,000 UEC per day, and the mining ship MISC Prospector is available for 42,000 UEC per day. However, it is advisable to already be familiar with the game and the missions before borrowing one, in order to get started right away.
