Star Citizen: How the Warbond Principle Works

In the Star Citizen store (under "Pledge") you can see all available ships. As you know, you can buy these not only with real money, but also with store credit, which you can get, for example, through "Gift Certificates". In addition, you can upgrade existing ships to more expensive ships for an additional charge.

All these methods do not apply to Warbond offers, because:

• Warbond ships must be bought entirely with fresh money.
• In return, the ships are slightly reduced.
• However, Warbond offers are only occasionally available for certain ships; so the right timing is important.

Warbond ships are thus a good opportunity to save cash and therefore very popular. Despite the savings, it remains to be noted that you have to invest the full amount, which is not always a good deal if you own ships at the same time that you no longer want anyway. The equivalent value of these ships is thus useless in this case, which is not the case with the regular upgrade.Thus, if one day you see a Warbond offer that interests you, it is a matter of carefully weighing whether the purchase is worth it.
