PowerPoint: Unprotect - gain access!

If you have received a presentation that is read-only, the author usually does not want changes to be made. However, if you want to continue editing the file for yourself, you can unprotect it in PowerPoint.

How to unprotect your PowerPoint presentation?

To protect your PowerPoint presentation from third parties or accidental changes, it is possible to write-protect it. Once you have done that, you can edit the presentation only with a previously set password or view it read-only. You can remove the protection.

1. Open the read-only presentation.
2. When you open it, you will be asked whether you want to open the read-only view or not. Click "No" to open the PowerPoint presentation without read-only.
3. If you want to always open presentations without read-only in the future, go to "File > Information" in the upper left corner.
4. Klicken Sie hier auf „Präsentation schützen“ und deaktivieren Sie „Immer schreibgeschützt öffnen“.

Datei-Schutz entfernen

Gibt es Probleme beim Öffnen, kann auch ein Schutz in den Dateieigenschaften verhindern, dass Sie die Präsentation bearbeiten können. Prüfen Sie Folgendes:

1. Rechtsklicken Sie die Präsentation, statt sie zu öffnen. Sie müssen Sie zuvor schließen, falls Sie noch geöffnet ist.
2. Wählen Sie „Eigenschaften“.
3. Unter „Allgemein“ prüfen Sie nun, ob „Schreibgeschützt“ aktiviert ist. Entfernen Sie das Häkchen und klicken Sie auf „OK“, um den Schreibschutz der PowerPoint-Präsentation aufzuheben.
