Fire TV Stick jerks: These are your options

Amazon's Fire TV Stick brings high-definition entertainment to your TV. Sometimes, it can cause unsightly jerks that interfere with your entertainment enjoyment. Different causes can be to blame for the problem, such as a poor Internet connection or too high a resolution of the content being played.

Various possible solutions

Not every device harmonizes equally with the Amazon Fire TV Stick. If you change the frame rate from 60 hertz to 50 hertz, this may make it easier for many devices to play the program you want. If this is not successful, be sure to test your Internet connection for limited performance with a speed test or restart your router. Restarting your TV Sticks can also be helpful to fix the juddering problem.

How can you use the Fire TV Stick without juddering?

  1. Test your Internet line first and see if the full bandwidth of your provider is available or impaired. A speed test via your web browser gives quick answers.
  2. Change the image resolution and refresh rate your TV sticks. To do this, go to the settings options of the TV Stick and select the sub-item "Sounds and Screen". If the picture resolution is set to automatic, change it to a fixed resolution, such as 720p 50hz.
  3. Unplug your TV Stick and plug it back into your device. This can often fix the judder.
  4. If the previous approaches do not solve the problem, you should reset the Fire TV Stick to factory settings. However, this will delete all installed apps.
