Xiaomi MI 9: Update - how to install the latest version

Every few months, a new update is available for most Android smartphones, about which users are then notified. Most of the time, this happens completely automatically. However, it can happen that you have to trigger an update manually because you have disabled the automatic update function.

How is an update triggered on the Xiaomi MI 9?

The Xiaomi MI 9 has the Android operating system, which can usually be updated equally on all smartphones.

1. Open the settings by tapping the settings app on your smartphone. This is marked by a gear wheel.
2. Now go to "System" > "Advanced" > "System updates". You may need to tap "About the phone" instead of "Advanced".
3. Here you can now view the current Android version installed on your Xiaomi.
4. Should an update be available, you will be informed in a notification. Tap "Update" so that the smartphone is updated.
