This is the first Kindle

The first Kindle was released by Amazon in 2007. This classic Kindle has a 6-inch display with a pixel density of 167 ppi and is now in its 10th generation. With a price of around 49 euros, the classic Kindle is the cheapest model in the Kindle range, but it has no backlight and only works with WLAN.

These other Kindle models are available

Since the release of the first Amazon Kindle, in addition to the classic Kindle, three other variants of the e-book reader have been released.

1. The Kindle Paperwhite also has a 6-inch display. However, with a pixel density of 300 ppi, the quality of the display resolution is better than that of the classic Kindle. There are also four LEDs on the front, which allow you to read at night or in the dark. The Paperwhite is only available with WLAN or in a variant with WLAN + 3G.
2. The Kindle Voyage is identical to the Kindle Paperwhite in terms of display size and resolution. However, the Kindle Voyage has an adaptive lighting with six LEDs that automatically adjusts to the environment.
3. Equipped with other additional features is the Kindle Oasis. Namely, the 7-inch e-book reader not only has a front light, but also an ambient light sensor. In addition, the Kindle Oasis is water resistant and can also be taken to the pool.
