iPhone X: Apple ID - how to use it

The Apple ID is needed on the iPhone to set up and use the various Apple services. If you already have an Apple ID, simply sign in during setup or through Settings. Also read how to create a new Apple ID.

iPhone X: How to sign in with Apple ID

When you use your iPhone X for the first time, you will be asked to sign in with your Apple ID during the configuration of the device. This will register your new iPhone X with Apple and all Apple services, such as iTunes or iCloud, will be automatically set up on the device. If you skipped logging in when you first set up the device, you can do so at any time via Settings.
  1. To do this, first open the Settings app by clicking the "gear icon" and tap "Log in to iPhone" there.
  2. Then enter your Apple ID and the corresponding password and confirm your entry by tapping on "Sign in".

How to create a new Apple ID on iPhone X

If iPhone X is your first Apple smartphone and you don't have an Apple ID yet, you can create one during the device setup or later in the App Store. To create the Apple ID during setup, first tap "Forgot your password or don't have an Apple ID yet?" and then tap "Create a free Apple ID". Now enter your birthday as well as your name, tap "Next" and select "Current email address". To create the Apple ID via the App Store, open it and go to "Profile" > "Create new Apple ID".
