Google Home is a handy service that helps you organize your everyday life. To make the use of the smart home device even more interesting, it is possible to connect the Spotify music streaming service with Google Home.

How to connect Spotify with Google Home

For some time now, you can combine not only the Amazon Echo device with Spotify, but also Google Home. This is how it works with Spotify Connect:

1. It is best to use the same email address for your Spotify account as for the Google Home device. Then the connection will be established automatically.
2. Use a different email address, you must have the credentials ready.
3. After that, open the Google Home app and start the settings.
4. Click on "Accounts" in the list that appears and scroll down until you find "Spotify".
5. Use a right click and select "Link Account" from the options.
6. Press "Sign in" and use your login details. Now your account is connected to your Google Home device.
7. Note that Google Home can only have one Spotify account stored so far. If you want to delete this, you must first delete the existing account.

How to control Spotify with Google Home

You can use the usual voice commands to play a song. With "Stop" or "Pause" you interrupt the playback. At the same time, there is the possibility that you adjust the volume in this way. However, you can play your own playlist so far only via the Spotify app or your computer.
