Updating Joomla made easy - here's how it works

Joomla is a CMS used to create websites. CMS means content management software and is primarily used to provide the user with a simple interface to create content for a website. In order for the CMS to always be functional, it needs to be updated regularly.

Update Joomla - it works in no time

Joomla has a very clear interface. Even without instructions, you would probably independently come to the update function.

1. Start the web service of Joomla and log in with your account data in your account.
2. Left you will find the item "Component", on which you now click.
3. Then you will see the entry "Joomla" > Update".
4. If it is the first time you see this page, first click on "Save".
5. Directly after that you can check on which version your Joomla is and which version is currently available.
6. In case of doubt, the button "Install update" will be highlighted in blue, so you can click on it.

Update Joomla: Darauf müssen Sie achten

1. Es kann vorkommen, dass ein Update zunächst Ihre Webseite abändert oder sie nicht mehr richtig anzeigt.
2. Machen Sie aus diesem Grund zunächst ein Backup Ihrer Seite.
3. Nach der Aktualisierung müssen Sie zusätzlich den Cache Ihres Browsers leeren, damit er nicht versehentlichen alte Inhalte über die neue Anzeige legt.
