Android 9: Forgot unlock pattern - solutions

To protect your smartphone or tablet from third party access, you have the option to set a security code. You can set a pin or a pattern. Depending on the smartphone, a fingerprint to lock access is also possible. If you have forgotten the pattern, you can still access the device.

This is what you could do if you forgot the unlock pattern

If you have locked your Android device using a pattern to protect it from other people's access, you yourself can also access the content only if you know the pattern. However, if you have forgotten it, you can change it. To do this, you need the credentials of your Google account.

1. Go to Google via your browser of choice and log in there with your credentials.
2. In the account settings, then click on "Security" and then "My devices".
3. Here you will now find a list of all devices that you have linked to your Google account.
4. Now select the entry of the device that you want to unlock.
5. Click on the item "Unlock smartphone". Here you can now select the desired unlock option. Klicken Sie in diesem Fall auf „Muster“.
6. Geben Sie ein neues Muster ein und bestätigen Sie die Änderung.
7. Ihr Smartphone kann anschließend mit dem neu gesetzten Muster entsperrt werden.
