Google: Search and find large images - how it works

Both PC monitors and mobile devices have increasingly higher resolutions. This is having an impact on image search, as large formats are more in demand than ever before. We show how you can search Google specifically for large images.

High-resolution images can be set on Google at the touch of a button.

Google Image Search includes a huge and still growing portfolio. This makes it all the more important to apply the right filters.

Google: Set large images by default

Proceed as follows:
  1. Enter the desired search term in Google and open the image search with "Images".
  2. Then click on "Tools" directly under the search bar.
  3. Select the default "Large" for "Size".
The displayed results will now be updated and you will only see images that fall into the category "large". You won't find an exact definition for this there, but the proportion of really large images is noticeable and even the lower limit is in the sharp resolution range.Alternatively, by the way, you can enter the desired resolution directly into the search, for example by adding "4k" or "HD". The hit rate is thereby noticeably increased and low-resolution images occur only rarely.
