One-handed mode: How to activate it on the Galaxy S8 and related devices

The one-handed mode causes the currently open application to be reduced in size. The proportions remain the same, but the distances for the finger become shorter. On Android devices like the Samsung Galaxy S8, you activate the mode as follows:
  1. Open the "Settings" and there "Advanced Features".
  2. Select "Motions and Gestures".
  3. There you will find the option "One-handed mode", which you can activate via slider.
  4. Furthermore, by tapping on the option, you can choose whether you want to activate the one-handed mode via gesture or button.
Regarding this decision, we recommend simply trying out both options to find out what you like better. In all cases, you end the one-handed mode again by tapping on a free space in the display, i.e. beyond the minimized content.
