Tor is the abbreviation for "The Onion Router" and refers to a browser specifically designed to surf the Internet anonymously. Unlike regular programs, installing the Tor browser does not create an entry in the Control Panel's program list. Instead, all the required files are simply unzipped and stored in a directory. However, this also makes it impossible to uninstall the Tor Browser under "Control Panel" > "Programs and Features" by clicking the corresponding button.

How to completely uninstall the Tor Browser from your PC

Even though the Tor Browser advertises that you can surf the Internet without leaving any traces by using it, there is always criticism about the browser's security. If you no longer want to use the Tor Browser for this reason, perform the following steps to uninstall it.

1. To uninstall the Tor Browser, you must first determine the location of the Tor setup file.
2. To do this, use the key combination of "Windows key" + "E" to open Windows Explorer.
3. Switch to the "This PC" section there, click on the search bar in the upper right corner and enter "Tor Browser" as a search term.
4. When the Tor folder is found, right-click it and select "Delete" from the context menu to uninstall the browser.
