Streaming: Does Watchever still exist? We have the answer

More and more people are getting their TV content from the Internet - but that wasn't always the case. At the beginning of this change, Watchever played a central role.

Is Watchever still around?

Watchever was founded in 2013, at a time when smart TVs and devices like the Fire TV Stick were nowhere near as widespread as they are today.

• Parallel to the enormous market growth of IPTV and video on demand, Watchever quickly established itself as an important player.
• At the end of 2016, however, the service was discontinued. Since then, Watchever no longer exists.
• The former hopeful has thus long been a thing of the past. One important reason for the discontinuation was the dominance of the extremely fast-growing global services Netflix and Amazon Prime.

These two giants dominate the market to this day; Disney+ has added another big player, making the situation extremely difficult for smaller services.
