Valheim: These biomes exist - and these are still to come

Atmosphere and difficulty in Valheim vary greatly depending on the biome. Our guide shows which landscapes are available and which have already been announced but are not yet included in the game.

Varied: Depending on the biome, the challenges are quite different.

For an Early Access game, Valheim is considered surprisingly advanced and extremely extensive. So it's all the better that even more content has been announced.

Valheim: Six biomes available, three more in planning

Shortly after the EA release, it looks like this:

• Valheim has started with six playable biomes.
• Your adventure starts in the relatively harmless floodplain forest.
• The Black Forest and the swampland follow, where not only the enemies are stronger, but also the conditions are more difficult.
• At the latest in the icy mountains, your survival skills are then really challenged.
• Also the plains and the ocean mean real challenges.
• In the future, three more biomes will be added with the Fog Lands, the High North and the Ash Lands.

The Fog Lands are even already accessible, but there is currently no playable content there. But that's not a problem: due to the size of the map as well as the many possibilities already offer the current biomes enough material for many hours of gameplay.
