Open Galaxy Fold - here's how to best proceed

The new Galaxy Fold is one of the first foldable smartphones where the phone consists of two halves, each forming one side of a display. Once the phone is unfolded, the displays become one large display. The smartphone can also be easily unscrewed with a few tricks.

This is how you open the Galaxy Fold

To open the Galaxy Fold, you need a few tools: a heat gun, a suction cup and a box cutter.

1. First, turn off the Galaxy Fold by holding down the power button for a long time.
2. Unfold the smartphone and place it on the display side. Now heat the back with a heat gun. Press the suction cup on the smartphone and lift the display slightly.
3. Slide the box cutter into the opening and guide it along the entire edge. Do this first on the non-front display side.
4. If the adhesive is completely loosened, the backs can now each be released individually.

If you want to open the Galaxy Fold even further, then you must next remove the inner screws. Once you have removed all the screws, you can take out the individual components. Do you want to reassemble the phone later, make sure that you put all the parts back together the same way you took them apart. For this purpose, it is best to use a prepared adhesive strip.
