Hue compatible lamps: here's what LEDs look like

To ensure extensive compatibility, Philips makes sure that an installation from different systems works smoothly. Not only is smartphone control important, but also automated lighting control. One speaks of automatic dimming at sunset or sunrise.

Overview of compatible devices and systems

Officially, all ZigBee-based LED bulbs are controlled by the Philips Hue Bridge. However, this does not guarantee compatibility. The reason for this is usually the software programming of third-party vendors.
  1. LEDVANCE Smart+ : OSRAM's ZigBee bulbs can be controlled by both the OSRAM gateway and the Hue Bridge. Price-wise, this option is cheaper, but according to experience, not always stably functional.
  2. IKEA TRÅDFRI: These bulbs are probably the cheapest you will get for your system. With just under ten euros per bulb, you can easily expand your Hue system. In addition, Ikea offers motion detectors, dimmers and furniture with integrated light panels.
  3. Cree Connected: Cree lamps are not yet available in Germany, but would represent another cheap option.
  4. Philips Hue: Of course, the lamps from their own house are also represented. With the purchase you are in the point of compatibility on the safe side, but invest more money than with third-party suppliers.
There are various systems that can also be coupled with the Hue Bridge in addition to other lamps. If you prefer an alternative control, you can use the "HomeKit". Also "Qivicon" and "Innogy SmartHome" can be inserted uncomplicated.
