iTunes could not connect to iPhone

When you connect your iPhone to your PC, iTunes may fail to connect to your smartphone. To ensure that you can still take advantage of iTunes, load backups, and manage your music, you should heed a few tips and tricks.

How to solve the connection problem

To enable iTunes to reconnect to iPhone, you should try the following options:
  1. Check which iOS version your iPhone is using and which one is currently requested by iTunes. Due to the fact that your iPhone performs system updates at night, it may happen that an update has been made to a new iOS version that is not compatible with your iTunes version.
  2. If the issue is that, then update your iTunes to a compatible version as well. You can also directly download the appropriate iTunes version, as your data is stored via the Apple ID.
  3. Also a possibility is that an update is performed in the background and the corresponding app or iOS system prevents the connection is established. Open the settings of your smartphone and check them. Either stop the corresponding update or try again afterwards.
  4. Last but not least, small software errors can also be responsible for iTunes not being able to connect to the iPhone. Restart both your PC and iPhone and try again.

Find the compatible version

If you need to update the version of iOS, you can do it wirelessly or via Apple support. There you can also get information about the compatibility of each version.
