In different situations, shutting down your laptop is interrupted by various factors. As a result, the computer remains on and cannot be shut down. In most cases, however, the problem is quite trivial and can be easily worked around.

Laptop won't shut down: These are the most common reasons

The fact that your laptop does not shut down from time to time is not a bad thing. Often, the operating system continues to work in the background, even if you do not notice.

1. Active programs often prevent a laptop from shutting down. However, as soon as the process is started, Windows will tell you which programs are still running.
2. If your laptop is very slow, shutting down can also take quite a while and therefore seem as if it is not shutting down at all.
3. It is also possible that the operating system is prevented from shutting down in the background by an installation and therefore still takes a few minutes.
