Steam: Add a credit card - this is how easy it is

If you are new to Steam and want to use a credit card for your game purchases, of course it is possible. Our guide explains how you can add a credit card to the platform.

Proceed as follows:

1. Click in the Steam client in the top right corner on your profile name.
2. Select "Account Details".
3. There you will see at the top of the "Shop & Purchase History" section along with your current payment method, if already specified. Directly below you can use the blue text field to update your details.
4. Select your credit card provider (available are Visa, MasterCard, American Express and JCB) and enter your details.
5. Follow the steps until the process is complete.

Immediately after that you can store on Steam with your credit card. Since Steam is considered extremely secure, your bank details are in good hands.
