Genshin Impact: How do the characters work?

Genshin Impact is an online role-playing game, but when it comes to character creation there are some peculiarities. We explain how the game is structured and what tips are useful at the beginning.

Never alone: In Genshin Impact you are with up to four characters.

Since Genshin Impact is free to play, it could quickly reach many players. The question of characters is therefore all the more important.

Genshin Impact: Multiple characters always with you

At the start of the game, you decide on one of three characters. From then on, this one is your main character, to whom you can give your own name. But it doesn't stop there:

• In Genshin Impact you are on the road with several characters. You can switch between them at any time, just as the situation requires. At the same time you can have up to four characters with you, only one is active at a time.
• All the more important to deal with the list of all characters, as this allows you to make a strategic choice.
• Shortly after starting you will get access to more characters, but not all of them. There are currently more than 20 characters, most of which you have to unlock, including by praying.
• You have to level up the characters separately. Dies geschieht durch aktiven Einsatz sowie durch gesammelte Karten, die Sie beim Charakter Ihrer Wahl einlösen können.
