Valheim: Why do you need dragon eggs?

Optically and due to the location, finding the first dragon egg in Valheim is a special event. However, in doing so, the game does not explain what you can even do with the item. We know.

Valheim: Dragon eggs as the key to the boss

You will find dragon eggs high up in the mountains, embedded in nests of stone and crystal. In addition, each dragon egg is extremely heavy, weighing 200 - there is no heavier object in the game.

• You can not, however, (unfortunately) use the egg to create items or even breed dragons.
• Instead, it is another boss key: with three dragon eggs, you can summon the fourth boss named Moder.
• Whose altar is also located in a mountain range. The exact location you get as always before from a signpost rune.

Keep in mind that dragon eggs also can not be teleported, the fast travel is thus omitted. Due to the weight, this already makes transporting them to the altar a logistical challenge - after all, you need three per summon.
