The terms 4G and LTE are often used synonymously by many mobile operators. However, although both 4G and LTE are fourth-generation cellular standards, 4G and LTE are not the same thing. While various criteria have been defined for 4G that are valid internationally, this is not the case for LTE. In addition, the speeds at which you can surf the Internet with 4G and LTE differ significantly.

4G or LTE: Is LTE Advanced better?

In addition to the classic LTE, there is, with LTE Advanced, meanwhile already an improved version of the LTE mobile standard. This is often also referred to as LTE-A or LTE+ and achieves higher speeds than LTE. Thus, with LTE Advanced, speeds of up to 4,000 Mbps in the download area and up to 1,000 Mbps in the upload area are possible.
