Android 9: WLAN problems - how to remedy

If you have problems with the WLAN on your Android 9 device, trouble-free access to the Internet is not possible. In our article, we show you what causes WLAN problems and how you can fix them directly on your Android device.

Android 9: These are the causes of WLAN problems

If you have problems with the WLAN connection on your Android 9 device, this can lead to the connection to the Internet constantly dropping or being very slow. In order to fix the problems that occur, it is important to find out their cause. To determine it, first check whether there is currently a general malfunction with your Internet provider. If this is not the case, the cause of the error may be the router. Therefore, make sure that the router is properly connected and the WLAN function on the device is turned on.

How to fix WLAN problems on your smartphone or tablet with Android 9

If there is neither a general malfunction nor a problem with the router itself, you should next check the network connection between the router and your Android 9 tablet or smartphone.
  1. If your Android device is connected to the router, but you still have no Internet, it may help to temporarily remove the WLAN network. To do this, navigate to the device's settings to "Connections" > "WLAN", tap on the name of your network and select the option "Remove".
  2. If this does not help, reset the entire network settings by going to "General" > "Reset" in the settings and tapping on the entry "Reset network settings".
