SHARE NOW: How to refuel the different vehicles

SHARE NOW now combines the fleets of DriveNow and Car2go. Despite this merger, some operations still run separately and that includes refueling. We explain what you need to know.

In early 2020, the merger of the two services into the SHARE NOW APP was finally pushed through, as explained here. When it comes to refueling, the providers remain independent (for now).

SHARE NOW: Differences in refueling between DriveNow and Car2go

If you drive a car from the DriveNow fleet and want to refuel it, the following applies:

• You will find the fuel card in the center console.
• In the navigation system of the car you will find all available gas stations under "points of interest".
• All gas stations of Aral, AVIA, TOTAL and Westphalia are eligible.
• To get a bonus for refueling, the fill level at the start of the rental must be below 25 percent. Then you get a credit of 8 euros for your next trips. However, the validity is limited to 90 days.
• The same applies to charging an e-car, but here it is enough to connect the vehicle to the charging station and end the rental.

With Car2go vehicles it looks like this:

• The prepaid fuel card is in the same place as the key, namely above the glove compartment.
• Per Navi find an approved gas station of Shell, TOTAL, Esso or Avia.
• If the car had less than 25 percent fill level at the start of the trip, you get 4 euros credited to your customer account.

Although the reward for DriveNow vehicles is twice as high, the process is also worthwhile with Car2go cars in many cases - the effort is ultimately small, the credit for further trips always welcome.
