Apple Wallet: Add tickets - here's how to do it

The Apple Wallet app is the successor to the old Passbook app and makes paper tickets obsolete for iPhone owners. In addition to bank and membership cards, you can also store tickets or airline tickets in the digital wallet, for example.

How to add new tickets to Apple Wallet

Through the Wallet app, iPhone owners can conveniently manage credit, bank and membership cards to pay with Apple Pay. In addition, you can also manage tickets through Wallet. Add tickets to the Wallet via Wallet-enabled apps.
  1. Open the Wallet app.
  2. Scroll down in the card overview until you see the option "Edit cards" and select it.
  3. Tap on the option "Search apps for Wallet", then the App Store opens and you get an overview of all compatible apps. Within the supported apps, after purchasing tickets, you then have the option to add them to the Wallet.
Alternatively, some tickets can also be added via barcode or QR code.
  1. Open the Wallet and call up the "Edit tickets" option.
  2. Tap on "Scan code". It will then open the camera of your iPhone and you have the option to scan the barcode or QR code on your ticket.
Furthermore, there is the option to add tickets to the wallet via the browser or from an email. All it takes is a file in pkpass format. Open such a file on your iOS device, the Wallet will automatically open and you can add the ticket.
