GeForce Now: System Requirements Overview

GeForce Now has finally exited beta and is on the market. Although it is a cloud service, there are minimal system requirements. We present these below.

Low standards: Even old systems can use GeForce Now.

Cloud gaming is on the rise, even if there are still many teething problems. GeForce Now is one of the most popular services.

GeForce Now: These are the system requirements

The system requirements of GeForce Now depend on the platform:
  • With Windows PCs (64-bit only), you need a DirectX 11 graphics card, 4 GB of RAM and a dual-core processor with a clock speed of at least 2 GHz.
  • For Apple computers, the age or generation of the MacBook or iMac is crucial. For example, the iMac 20″ must be at least from 2009, while the MacBook Air 11″ must be from 2015 or newer. The complete overview can be found here in the "Mac OS" tab.
  • Android smartphones must have at least 2 GB of RAM and run Android 5.0. OpenGL support is also necessary.
The bandwidth is also important, since it determines the resolution and frame rate. With at least 15 Mbit/s you get 720p at 60 FPS, for 1080p and 60 FPS you need at least 25 Mbit/s. Eine Kabelverbindung mit dem Router ist unbedingt ratsam.
