Dual Boot Windows - how to use Windows in parallel
If you work with Windows 10, you know the circumstance that a program or game developed for an older Windows version does not run on the newer version. Often there are updates that fix the error. If nothing helps, you should install an older Windows.
How can you install Windows alongside Windows?
On a single computer, you can also easily install two versions of Windows. However, for this you need a partition where the second Windows version has space, and the first Windows version must not be stored on this partition. You should also make a backup of your Windows system, in case an error occurs afterwards.- The first thing you need to do is to create a boot medium with the second Windows version. The best way to do this is to use a USB stick.
- Turn off your PC and insert the USB stick. Now start your PC and select the USB stick as boot media.
- Go through the steps of the Windows installation and make sure to select a different partition than the one where the first Windows version is installed.
- Once the installation is complete, your PC will reboot. Do not forget to remove the USB stick again. Now a menu should automatically appear where you can select which Windows version you want to start.
