The part that breaks most quickly on a smartphone is still the screen or the screen glass. With the newer models, it is no longer quite so easy to replace the display, as this is often glued and can only be loosened by heat.

Repairing the display is one of the most difficult undertakings and should be done with utmost care. You will need picks, a heat gun and a micro screwdriver.

1. Use the heat gun to warm the edge of the back (back cover) of the phone.
2. Take a spatula and a few picks to detach the back cover from the rest of the smartphone.
3. When removing it, make sure that the back cover is still connected to the fingerprint sensor. Disconnect the corresponding ribbon cable from the back cover.
4. Next, remove all screws in the device and remove the antenna module and battery cover.
