Find out your Steam ID: How to make it easy
Every user account on Steam has a unique ID associated with your profile. Knowing this is quite handy for some purposes. If you need the ID, there are several ways to find it out. However, for this you usually need the Steam client on your computer.
How to find out your Steam ID
Your Steam ID can be used to uniquely identify you. This is useful, for example, if friends are looking for you or you want to find out the value of your Steam account. If you want to find out the ID, this can be done for example via your profile URL.- Click on "View" at the top of the Steam client and then on "Settings".
- Open "Surface".
- Check "Show Steam URL address bar when available".
- Close the window with "Ok".
- Then open your profile in the client.
- You will see a URL at the top and there should now be a 17-digit number string at the end. This is your Steam ID.
Other ways to view the ID
There are other ways to find out your ID. For this you also need the client.- Go to your profile name in the top right corner of the client and click on "Show my profile".
- Right-click anywhere on the profile and then click on the entry "Show source code".
- In the opened text document you will find the line "g_steamID =". Behind this entry is your Steam ID.
