Windows 10: Use tablet mode - here's how
After Windows 8 took a lot of criticism because large parts of the user interface were designed for tablet users, Windows 10 is now trying to please everyone. We show you how to activate and use tablet mode.
In tablet mode, you can easily operate Windows 10 with your finger.
Back to the future: that's the best way to describe the step from Windows 8 to Windows 10. Among other things, this is due to the fact that a tablet mode is included, but only shows itself on request.
How to enable tablet mode in Windows 10
You can easily find the tablet mode:
- Click on the rectangular icon in the form of a speech bubble on the far right of the taskbar.
- It opens the Info Center.
- In the lower area you will see a few buttons, including "Tablet Mode".
- Click this button to activate tablet mode.
Your desktop will now turn into a tile view, strongly reminiscent of the Windows 8 interface. When you open a folder, for example the file browser in "This PC", all contained files are displayed much larger, so that the operation is optimized with the finger instead of the mouse.
How to make changes
If you want to further customize the use of tablet mode, please open the "Windows Settings" and navigate in these to "System" > "Tablet Mode". To deactivate tablet mode again, simply open the Info Center again and tap on "Tablet mode". Windows 10 then appears again in the familiar view.
