Windows 10: Bring back the classic Start menu

With the upgrade to Windows 10, a new Start menu was also added. This now consists of different tiles. If you are not happy with the new Start menu and miss your old one, you can easily bring it back to your desktop.

Bringing back the classic Start menu in Windows 10

How to use the classic menu in Windows 10:

1. First, open your web browser and search for the free program "Classic Shell".
2. Install it on your computer.
3. Then click on the Windows icon in the left corner.
4. The program "Classic Shell" opens automatically afterwards. You can now choose between three styles for your menu.
5. Select the classic Windows 7 style here and confirm your selection with "OK".
6. Finally close the page. Your menu now looks like Windows 7 again. If necessary, you can change it again via the same procedure.

Classic Shell in German

Occasionally, it may happen that the program is set to English after installation. Die Sprache kann über wenige Mausklicks geändert werden.

1. Öffnen Sie die Einstellungen des Programmes und gehen Sie auf die erweiterten Einstellungen.
2. Nun wird Ihnen bereits der Punkt „Language“ angezeigt. Klicken Sie diesen an.
3. Wählen Sie im Anschluss „Deutsch“ aus und bestätigen Sie Ihre Auswahl mit „OK“.
4. Das Programm läuft nun in der Sprache Deutsch und kann von Ihnen verwendet werden.
