Because while the game mechanics are basically strongly based on genre classics like SimCity, Skid Cities appears in a neon-colored sci-fi garb.

• The title is set in the year 2092, in a world that is no longer the same as it is today due to various catastrophes such as rising sea levels, major wars and disintegrated states.
• Nevertheless, advanced technologies have emerged. These shape not only everyday life, but also urban development.

Equally well done is the dystopian mix of dirty industrial environments and glossy objects. Skid Cities went into Early Access launch on February 25, 2021 and is available on Steam for 19 euros. Playable so far is the beginning of the campaign, an extensive tutorial and the sandbox mode.
