Why can't I connect my device to the UE Boom?

Sometimes there can be problems connecting the UE Boom to a playback device. If you can't connect your device to the UE Boom, this article will give you an overview of what the problem is and how to solve it.

This helps if your device doesn't connect to the UE Boom

To play music from your smartphone or tablet on the UE Boom, you need to pair the devices first. This is done via Bluetooth by default and can be established directly by pressing a button on the speaker. If problems occur in the process, this can have several causes.
  1. To fix the connection error, turn off your UE Boom speaker briefly and then turn it on again.
  2. Also, perform a restart of your mobile device and then perform the connection process again.
  3. If the problem persists, you will need to delete your UE Boom from the list of known Bluetooth devices.
  4. This can be done on an iOS device by clicking "Ignore this device" next to the device name. If you are using an Android device, click the menu icon next to the "Ultimate Ears Boom" entry and select the "Unpair" option.

Device still won't connect to the UE Boom

If problems occur more often when connecting the UE Boom via Bluetooth, you can also connect the speaker via NFC instead. However, this only works if your mobile device is NFC-enabled. If this is the case, hold the device directly against the NFC tag of the UE Boom for two seconds. If the connection was successful, a signal sounds and you can use the speaker to play music.
