How to rename the UE Boom?

To make your UE Boom speaker easier to identify, it is helpful to rename it. How to change the UE Boom's name differs based on whether you're using the speaker with an iOS or Android device.

How to rename your UE Boom on Android

Once you have connected your UE Boom speaker to a smartphone or tablet, it will show up in the list of connected Bluetooth devices. By default, the name "Ultimate Ears Boom" is used for this, but you can change it.

1. To change the name of the speaker on an Android device, first connect it to the UE Boom.
2. Then open the Ultimate Ears Boom app installed on the device and tap the "gear icon" to open the settings.
3. Tap "Speaker Name" there and set a new name for your UE Boom.
4. In addition, renaming the speaker is also possible via the settings app. Navigate to "Bluetooth" and tap the "Settings icon" next to the UE Boom first, then tap "Rename" to enter a new name.

Rename UE Boom: How to do it on an iOS device

Even if you use an iPad or iPhone, you can make a change to the name of your UE Boom. However, on iOS devices, this is only possible through the appropriate UE Boom app and not through the device menu.
