In order to install a new operating system on your computer, a data medium such as a CD is usually required. If you want to install Windows 8 or 8.1 on the PC, you can also install the operating system without a CD via a download tool from Microsoft.
How to install Windows 8 and 8.1 without CD
With the appropriate ISO file, it is possible to install Windows 8 and 8.1 without CD. To be able to activate the operating system during installation, you need a valid product key.- First download the Windows 8 or 8.1 ISO file.
- Next, you need a USB stick with at least 4 GB of free space.
- Now download a tool that allows you to create a bootable USB stick. For this, for example, Rufus is suitable.
- Start the application. Select at the top of "Device" the USB stick.
- In "Boot selection" then select the previously downloaded ISO file.
- In "Partition Scheme" select "MBR" and in "Target System" "BIOS or UEFI".
- Under "Format Options" you do not need to make any further changes.
- Klicken Sie schließlich auf „START“, um einen bootfähigen USB-Stick zu erstellen.
- Sobald der USB-Stick erstellt wurde, starten Sie Ihren PC neu, um in das BIOS-Menü zu gelangen.
