Windows: "Could not configure one or more system components"

Up until July 29, 2016, users of Windows 7 were able to upgrade to the newer Windows 10 version free of charge. Those who missed this deadline were still able to update for free. However, many users received the error message "Windows could not configure one or more system components" when they tried.

Windows: "Could not configure one or more system components" - the solution

The reason for the error message and the subsequent abort of the installation is a bug in the in-house .NET Framework 3.5. The framework is ironically used to run Windows optimally.
  1. To solve the problem, you need to disable the framework before installation.
  2. To do this, use the key combination [Windows] + [R] to start "Run".
  3. Enter [optionalfeatures] and confirm by pressing [Enter].
  4. Now look for the entry for the .NET Framework 3.5 and uncheck it.
  5. If you already have a newer version of the framework installed, uncheck it as well.
  6. Finally click "OK" and run the update again.

Windows hat weiterhin den gleichen Fehler
